French Fries in the Media:
From Aardappelwereld, May, 1999:

Note: this is from the News and Current bits of interest section of a Dutch potato-industry magazine. The magazine's title translates to "Potato World", although to be (un)fair, we could call it Dirt-Apple World. A translation of the article follow the original text.

Friet-Fanaten

Grossman uit New York.

Friet-Fanatics (French Fry Fanatics)

What does a hard-core French Fry lover do when he's not eating? He launches the Official French Fry Page (www..com/fries/). This is, in a nutshell, the history of Mr Grossman from New York. His Web site -- which originally started off as a joke -- is the focus of attention for French fry lovers of the USA as well as many other countries. Each week several thousand lovers of a good serving of fries find their way to this site. The site is full of tips and French fry facts. Among other things there is a list of French fry dishes from throughout the world and a do-it-yourself guide on how to bake French fries. Mr. Grossman, who informally represents many thousands of French fry lovers, has a great request to the world's professional producers of French fries. Pictures that are related to one or more aspects of the French fry (the whole chain from plant to customer). The really die-hard French fry fanatics always want to know more, and thus far the contributions from the US-French fry producers has been disappointingly small.

A very special thanks to yet another "anonymous" source for sending us the article and translation. There are a few errors, like the missing second "n" on the boss' last name. And that the site isn't really his personal history, but maybe that's just a Dutch phrase that didn't translate well. We haven't done much baking of French Fries save for the Fat-Free French Fries, but perhaps that's just another translation anomaly.
