College essay about yourself

Growing up, I was always the shy, quiet type. I was always the one who stayed in the background, observing everyone else around me. I was never the one to step up and take charge; I was content to let others do the talking. I was content to blend in with the crowd and just be another face in the crowd.

However, as I got older, I started to realize that I could no longer stay in the background and be content with just being a face in the crowd. I realized that I had to take charge of my own life and be the one to make my own decisions. I had to take a stand and make my voice heard. I had to be the one to take initiative and make things happen.

I started to become more involved in my school and my community. I joined clubs and organizations and started to take part in activities that I was passionate about. I started to open up and talk to people, and I started to find my place in the world. I was no longer content to just be another face in the crowd; I was now the one leading the charge.

Through this process, I have learned the importance of taking initiative and speaking up for myself. I have learned that I have to be the one to take charge and make things happen. I have also learned that it is important to have a voice and to be heard. I have learned that I have to be the one to take a stand and make my presence known.

I am now more confident and sure of myself than I ever was before. I am no longer content to just be another face in the crowd; I am now the one who takes charge and makes things happen. I am now the one who speaks up and makes my voice heard.
