A thesis statement is a sentence or two that clearly states the argument you make in your paper. It should be included at the end of your introductory paragraph. The thesis statement should be arguable and should be supported by evidence in the body of your essay. For example, if you are writing an essay about the importance of education, your thesis statement may be something like “Education is essential for success in life because it provides the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the workplace.”
